Sentiment
How positively AI answers speak about your brand.
Sentiment measures the tone of your mentions on a scale from minus one to plus one. Positive starts at 0.2 upwards, negative at minus 0.2 downwards, and everything in between counts as neutral.
The dashboard value is the average across your mentions in the period. In reports, the sentiment distribution shows how your mentions split into positive, neutral and negative, and you can click each group to see the individual mentions.
Why AI sentiment matters
AI assistants summarize and recommend. When they describe your brand in a negative or outdated tone, that phrasing reaches every customer who asks. Because answers repeat across users, a single negative characterization travels far.
Where changes come from
Sentiment usually moves for concrete reasons: a new wave of reviews, a public incident, an outdated comparison that AIs keep quoting, or a competitor campaign. When the average drops, check the reports sentiment view for the specific answers that turned negative, then look at which sources the AI relied on in the Gaps area.
Sentiment requires an analysis key: your own OpenRouter key on the Free plan, or the platform-provided analysis on paid plans.
