Data retention
How long SEOAI keeps your tracking results, and what deletes them sooner.
SEOAI keeps every tracking run for 25 months. That is far longer than any view in the app reaches back: reports, charts, exports and alerts cover at most 90 days plus the comparison period before it, so everything you can look at is always complete.
What is kept for 25 months
Each run (execution) stays readable for 25 months from the day it ran:
- The full answer text
- Citations with their URLs, titles and snippets
- Brand mentions and their sentiment
- Fan-out queries
- Google local pack entries, Google Maps places and the domains the AI fetched
After 25 months a run is deleted together with everything attached to it. Numbers that only add up runs, such as your cost totals, are carried forward as monthly totals, so they stay correct.
What is kept for 13 months
A few extra details on the execution page are display-only and are removed after 13 months, while the run itself stays:
- Google's organic top 10 and People also ask for an AI Overview run
- The list of individual pages the AI fetched (the domains stay)
- Perplexity's related questions
- The search queries Gemini sent to Google Maps
Search Console and Bing data
When a Search Console property is connected, SEOAI keeps the last 13 weekly snapshots of its queries; each snapshot covers 28 days. When a Bing Webmaster Tools site is connected, SEOAI keeps the last 13 weekly snapshots of its queries as well; each snapshot holds the weekly values Bing provides for the past months, added up per query. Older snapshots are removed with every sync. Disconnecting the Google or Bing account, removing the property or site from a brand or switching the brand to another one deletes the synced queries right away.
Uploaded Bing AI Performance (Copilot) exports are kept per brand as well: the last 13 uploads, each with its grounding queries, cited pages and date range. The uploaded file itself is not kept. Remove Copilot data on the Integrations page deletes all of a brand's uploads; disconnecting a Bing account does not.
Deleting data yourself
Deleting removes data immediately, not after the retention period:
- Deleting a prompt deletes all of its runs
- Deleting a topic or a brand deletes its prompts and runs
- Deleting your account deletes your workspaces and everything in them
Invoices are the exception: they stay with our payment provider Stripe because of statutory retention duties.
Backups
Nightly encrypted backups of the database are kept for 30 days and then deleted automatically, so deleted data disappears from backups within 30 days as well.
Plans and limits
