AI platforms and keys

SEOAI currently tracks five AI surfaces:

1. ChatGPT (OpenAI)
2. Claude (Anthropic)
3. Gemini (Google), with live Google grounding
4. Perplexity
5. Google AI Overviews

You select platforms per topic, so you can track different markets on different platforms. Google AI Overviews are special: they are only recorded when Google actually shows an AI Overview for the prompt. If there is none, SEOAI re-checks that prompt about once a week instead of on every run.

Platform keys versus your own keys

1. Platform keys are managed by SEOAI and included in all paid plans. Executions on platform keys count against your monthly quota.
2. Your own keys are API keys from the providers, configured in API Settings. They are encrypted at rest, validated when saved, and only the last four characters are ever shown. Executions on your own keys never count against your quota, and your own key always takes priority over the platform key.

On the Free plan there are no platform keys: you track with your own keys, and you need an OpenRouter key for the analysis that extracts mentions and sentiment.

Choosing platforms for a topic

A good default is the platforms your customers actually use. Keep in mind that Gemini executions count as two quota units because of the live grounding, and that fan-out data comes mostly from Gemini answers.
