Query Fan-out page

Every sub-query the AI researched for your prompts, with coverage, search demand and the platforms that ran it.

The Query Fan-out page in the main menu lists every sub-query the AI researched for your prompts in the selected period. It is the one place to explore fan-out in detail; the Fan-out tab in the Gaps area summarizes the same data per topic and links here.

Filters

The period and topic filters at the top work as on the other report pages. The coverage filter below the tiles narrows the list to All, Not covered or Covered sub-queries, each with its count. Every filter is part of the page address, so a filtered view can be bookmarked or shared with your team.

The list

Each prompt with fan-out in the period is one row, newest run first, with:

  • Executions: runs of the prompt in the period.
  • With fan-out: how many of those runs exposed sub-queries.
  • Sub-queries: the distinct sub-queries of the prompt.
  • Emits: how often those sub-queries were run in total.

Open a prompt to see its sub-queries, most frequent first. Spellings that differ only in capitals or spaces are shown as one sub-query. Each sub-query shows the platforms that ran it with their counts, how often it was run and when it was last seen. A prompt shows up to 20 sub-queries; the rest are in the Prompts CSV, which always contains every sub-query.

Coverage

On Pro and Agency plans every sub-query carries a Covered or Not covered badge. A sub-query is covered when you appeared, cited or mentioned, in at least one answer of its topic that ran it. This is the same rule as on the Fan-out tab in the Gaps area, so the counts match.

The tiles above the list show how many distinct sub-queries the period has and how many of them are covered. A link under the coverage tile opens the per-topic summary in the Gaps area.

On Free and Starter plans the list of sub-queries stays available; coverage, the tiles and search demand show as locked.

Search demand

When a Google Search Console property or a Bing Webmaster Tools site is mapped to the brand, each sub-query also shows the search query it matches best, with your average position and its impressions, for example "You rank #4 · 1,240 impressions" and the query below it. A dash means no search query of your site matches the sub-query.

The numbers come from one source only, never added up: Google when a Search Console property is mapped and synced, otherwise Bing. A line above the list names the source and its window, for example "Google Search Console, 28 days ending Sep 27, 2026". Matching works like on the Search tab: filler words and place names are ignored, word endings are trimmed, and a search query matches when the sub-query contains all of its words or the two overlap strongly. Branded queries are left out.

A third tile counts the not covered sub-queries that have search demand behind them: real searches where you rank, researched by the AI, and answered without you.

Exports

  • Prompts CSV: one row per prompt and sub-query, with the platforms that ran it, emits and last seen. On Pro and Agency plans it also has a covered column (yes or no).

Keywords AI surfaced, the phrases mined from answer text, and their Keywords CSV are on the Reports page. The info box at the top of this page links there with the same period and topic.
