Earned media

The third-party pages AI relies on, and whether they feature you.

AI assistants lean on a relatively small set of third-party pages when they answer market questions: comparison articles, listicles, review roundups, forum threads, documentation. Earned media shows you these pages for a specific prompt, and whether they know you exist.

What the card shows

For the prompt you audited, SEOAI fetched the pages the AI recently cited and checked each one: does it name your brand, the competitor, or neither? Each page appears with its type and how often it has been cited.

  1. Pages that name you: your current earned-media footprint
  2. Pages that name the competitor only: your outreach targets
  3. Pages that name nobody: neutral ground both of you can still win

Why this is often the fastest path to citations

You control your own pages, but the AI decides which pages to trust, and that trust lives mostly off your site. Getting featured on the pages the AI already cites converts directly into visibility: next time the AI researches the prompt, your name is on the source it reads.

The audit uses this view to deliver its most instructive verdict: when your own passage matches the competitor's in quality but you still lose, the gap is presence, not content, and these pages are where presence is bought.
