Citation Share

Citations are the links an AI answer hands to the user. The Citation Share tells you how big your slice of that pie is.

It is calculated as your citations divided by all citations in the answers to your tracked prompts in the period. If the answers contain forty citation links and twelve point to your domain, your Citation Share is 30 percent.

Why citations matter most

A citation is the strongest form of AI visibility: the assistant actively sends the user to your page. Mentioning your brand keeps you in the conversation, but linking your site is what produces visits.

The delta compares against the previous period of equal length. Watch it together with the average position of your citations: position one means the AI referenced you first.
